In a climbing gym or on a crag, fixed carabiners are particularly prone to wear and tear because they are so stressed. Either because of falls at the crux or because of the angle formed between the first point and the belayer. The BE SMITH carabiner is as easy to clip as a conventional carabiner thanks to its second wire gate. However, its wear will be largely limited thanks to its steel structure. In addition, it’s easier to take the slack and it is impossible for the carabiner to turn over in its express sling.
